5 v 5 Soccer Tournament
Youth soccer teams of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate in the Second ELGAA Annual 5v5 Tournament on Saturday, September 6, 2008 (rain date Sunday, September 7) at the June Vollrath Park at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
Every team will be guaranteed 3 games. This is a game of skill. There are NO goalkeepers. Each game will consist of two 20-minute halves with 5-minute half times. Teams will switch goals at half.

Register by August 2 to reserve a spot. Brackets are limited - later registrations will be accepted in the order they are received. Spots filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participation
Format promotes the skills of the game with emphasis on ball handling. All players will receive individual Participation Medals. All players from each division's winning team will receive a tournament champions shirt or trophy.
Teams
Players age will determine the cutoff by age group. Players shall not be past the bracket age as of September 1, 2008. U8 and U10 teams may enter up to ten players on a roster. U12 and U14 may enter up to eight players on a roster. Each team requires at least five players to enter. Rosters with players Date of Birth may be required to be presented at the Day of the Tournament. Games will be forfeited if a team is unable to present at least four players from their roster for that contest.
Tournament Alternatives
ELGAA Tournament Officials reserve the right to delay, reschedule, reduce times, or cancel games of the Tournament depending on weather or field conditions.
Game Format
The field sizes: U8 & U10; 20-30yd by 35-45yd – and - U12 /U14; 25-35yd by 40- 50yd Goal Size: 4’ x 4’. Field of Play is divided into 1/3 sections: Goal Shots need to be taken from within the nearest 1/3 line. Goals kicked from outside the Score line will not count. Each Goal has a No Enter Arch (aprox. 2 yards). Players from either team are not allowed to enter into the Arch. Offensive violation will result in loss of possession. Defensive Violation will result in a Penalty Kick.
Athletes can play on only the team they are registered. Ball size #4 will be used for each contest. No slide tackling in any age brackets is allowed. Yellow Card will be issued on first violation. Red Card will be issued on second violation - player will be disqualified from the Tournament. There are no offsides penalties. There are no throw-ins. Possession will be considered as a dead ball start on the field near the point of exit. There are no corner kicks.
Substitutions can be made by either team on any dead ball by notifying the Ref and entering from the Mid Field Area. In all dead ball situations the defending team players must stand at least 5 yards away from the ball. If the Defending players goal arch is closer than 5 yards - the ball shall be placed 5 yards away from the arch area in line with the place of penalty.
Kick-offs may be made in any direction. Defensive team remain in their 1/3 zone until the initial kick off is made. Penalty cicks are made behind the 1/3 Score Line. There are no defenders allowed inside the score line on a penalty. Missed penalty kicks result in dead ball situation. Possession changes over to the defending team.
There are no restrictions on ball height during the contest – however kicks above 3’ are discouraged. The emphasis is ball handling!
